In Alight, the prolific New Mexico-based artists Cory Feder and Diego Medina present a selection of illustrations and papercut works that explore the histories and implications of the obsidian mirror, an object that originated in Aztec-era Mexico before being brought across the Pacific where it entered the collection of Elizabethan court magician and polymath John Dee.
In this exhibition, smooth, rich gradients from Diego Medina dance with detail-ridden papercut watercolor works by Cory Feder, each revealing different aspects of the mystic portals that we engage with, both physically and culturally, in our daily lives.
