Join us on November 22nd from 5 to 7 PM for the opening reception of conceptual artist TinTin's Rodeo Drive, an exhibition of mixed media sculptures made from cow skulls, designer handbags, and hand-painted leather. In this exhibition, TinTin invites viewers into a simulacrum of Beverly Hill's iconic Rodeo Drive. Inspired by fashion, urban culture, and southwestern landscapes, TinTin's sculpture practice reintroduces post-consumer leather to its original source with a dash of social critique. Popular design house logos usually found hanging from the arms of the affluent appear emblazoned on the skulls of the animals that provide the source material for luxury consumer products, creating a visual juxtaposition that brings into question the relationship between nature, material culture, and globalization.
