The names, tribes, ages, and years purchased came from a list of Colorado Indian captives as reported by Lafayette Head, Indian Agent for Southern Colorado, in 1865, in a report prepared for the Colorado Territorial Governor John Evans. In turn, the Lafayette Head records were used by historian Virginia Sanchez in her article �Colorado Indian Acquisitions�, published in the Colorado Hispanic Genealogist, Volume 5, Number 3 - Fall 2008.
